To correct or not correct??

Hey guys,

In class we talk a great deal about when to step in and when to not step in when dealing with situations of spelling errors, or other situations. I am sure that we are all experiencing some situations in which we see an error and I am just wondering what some situations are in our Kindergarten classrooms in which you would correct and error and when you would leave it be since all that is really is important is participation. So think of the times you have kids writing 6s backwards, Ds backwards, write their name in the wrong space, etc. What are our thoughts??
