Teaching research: Nobel conference Posted on October 1st, 2012 by

This week we will be talking about how to encourage young writers to use multiple resources in their research: books, websites, guest speakers, and even personal experience! To support this work, I’ll be asking each of your to attend at least one Nobel speaker and use the “QuIPs” graphic organizer to take notes on questions that you have about the ocean. When we return to class, we’ll use the information you gather to write our own “All about the Ocean” book.

I used a modified QuIPs with some North students! They found it very helpful. Thank you for sharing this great resource with us Valerie!
