One thing that I absolutely loved at the conference this weekend was the session on Ag education in elementary grades. Growing up in an agricultural town and environment I feel that it is very important that kids learn about agriculture and where their food and other things come from. I also think that so many kids take for granted the work that goes into getting the things that we use on a daily basis. Agriculture is also a great way to teach about geography because it is a way to teach about different regions and how certain things can only be grown in certain areas.
Another things that I really enjoyed about the conference was seeing one of my former teachers and “making him feel old” because it was the first time he’d ever seen one of his former students at a professional conference. It is always great to connect with people that you haven’t seen in a while.
