Walter Dean Myers, who is an award-winning African American children’s author, wrote this piece on the lack of diversity in children’s literature. I appreciated how he personalized the issue.

We talked about resources for finding diverse literature in an earlier post. Now that you are planning your practicum lessons, what types of literature are you finding (or searching for)? Maybe the group can help!
