Diversity in children’s literature Posted on March 7th, 2014 by

Today we talked about the importance of diversity in children’s literature. Here’s a link to a great illustration of how (not) diverse children’s literature is today. (I love this because it is a cartoon!)

One place to find quality, diverse children’s literature is at the American Library Association’s awards page.

What resources do you know of for finding diverse children’s literature? Do you have any favorite children’s books you would like to share?

Do you know if there is any information about books being stereotyped? The cartoon said that the percentages were about different groups, but were they accurately about different groups?
