We have all been working on our Writing Portfolios for the first half of this particular semester. These folders are collections of a variety of writing samples from different genres. Not only do we as students create specific pieces of work in these different genres, but we also develop reflections on what we have specifically been writing. This portfolio allows us to gain not only the perspective of the students, but also that of the teacher. We are learning about content and writing genres that we will be using as teachers, and we are learning about ourselves as writers. This portfolio is a great assessment that cultivates a lot of what we have learned so far this semester and gives us an opportunity to participate in a fun and engaging learning experience. I am positive that everyones portfolio will turn out wonderful! I look forward to seeing the different writings that were created by my peers.
